Original music artist April Higuera conceptualized and organized this project to build a collaborative local and regional singer/songwriter community to promote promising/upcoming and established writers and music venues in the greater Reno/Tahoe area.

Writers supporting writers and venues that support (and value) writers!
Writers in upcoming showcases are often interviewed and promoted on local fm radio and live-stream podcast on Facebook. Showcase venues provide some form of valuable compensation for the writers and host (pay and/or video and/or livestream, etc.). We don’t give our souls away here … we are valued!
Aside from getting “paid,” it’s an unusual opportunity for new strong talent to share a stage and audiences with more established writers, in larger venues than the intimate open mic speakeasy. Writers have the opportunity to promote themselves to wider audiences, on bigger stages, with lots of free promotion.
April has recently begun to share her major band stages with featured April & Friends Songwriters Showcase Series writers … performing their solo acoustic originals during Sierra Roc’s and other band’s break/intermission during outdoor concerts and indoor performance events.
